Story: Terror Titans part 4: Shock and Awe

At the Dark Side Club, how combatant Ravager finally met defeat at the hands of Static! It's a victory I for one find hard to believe, considering Ravager's ability to see moments into the future. I felt her defeat would be at the hands of a speedster whom would move faster than she could see and react.

We see again the Dark Side Club is using some form of brainwashing, but Static proves resistant and broke free of their control, but didn't have time to free himself before being redrugged. We'll have to monitor the fate of Static.

The Star-Spangled Kid also seem resistant to the Clock King's manipulations. An interesting champion in the Dark Side Club bouts, we know little about him other than being a very resourceful fighter. It'll be interesting to see if he can break free and possibly join the Justice Society of America.

Disruptor makes an attempt at seducing Dreadbolt to help her kill Ravager. Once she reveals herself...well, her intentions...Dreadbolt spurns her cause and her. We'll be watching to see what happens with those not-so lovebirds.

Persuader gets reunited with her father just long enough to see Clock King kill him in order to remove all softness from her. Here's hoping it'll end up turning her against him.

Bennett's artistic interpretation of the events is exciting and lively.

If you haven't already been following this story, pick up the trade when it comes out.

The Players:

Villains - Clock King, Ravager, Dreadbolt, Persuader, Disruptor, and Copperhead. I've always been a fan of Clock King even back when he was the Green Arrow foe with the spandex. This new guy is cool, but doesn't quite have the panache of the original. Dreadbolt has quickly become my favorite of the Terror Titans, although Persuader and Copperhead are close behind. Ravager and Disruptor piss me off. I don't know anything about the original Disruptor, but this one annoys me to no end. So it's fitting the two characters who annoy me can't stand each other.

Heroes - Static, Star-Spangled Kid, Terra, Aquagirl, and Hardrock. These are mostly unknowns. I don't know anything about Hardrock, Aquagirl, and Terra. I know about the original Aquagirl and Terra, but these are different. Hardrock was a members of a group called The Ravers with Connor Kent, Superboy. Aquagirl was in San Diego when it sank into the ocean, and Terra is some alien not related to the first two Titans. Static was a Milestone character that I don't know anything about. He doesn't seem any different than any other electric hero. The hero of interest in the Star-Spangled Kid. Issue #1 of Terror Titans was his first appearance and as much attention as he's getting, I am assuming we'll learn more about him before long.

News Rating - 4 Worms. Comics have realized that villains are cool and can lead a title without them turning into good guys. McKeever and Bennett are presenting the story well. I just wish Ravager and Disruptor weren't so prominent.
