Story: Of Love and War part 4: The Weight of the World
The Amazons arrived in Washington DC with the Omphalos. As Athena, Hercules, and Namora arrived in DC, Artume released Atlas from his burden of holding up the world with one purpose. Distract Hercules.
Interesting that the matriarchcal, feminist Amazons would resort to having a man defend them from Hercules...Artume?
Artume: "Look, maggot...We didn't NEED Atlas to defend us. We wanted to show masculinity that we, the women, were in charge now...and we would use them. Not the other way around. Not any longer."
So you could have kept Hercules at bay without the assitance of a male, Atlas...but you wanted to make a political statement?
Artume: "Watch your accusations less you find yourself lacking that which makes you a lowly male!"
But sources say there was betrayal in the Amazon ranks.
Delphyne: "Oh my gawd, what can I say...Amadaeus Cho is so cute. I just love geeky guys. I didn't know that because I'd never met one...well, a guy...at all. Amazons lead isolated lives."
As Hercules, Namora, and Athena delt with Atlas, Cho and Delphyne plotted to remove the Omphalos from Artume's clutches. After a well placed shot sends the Omphalos flying into various slippery fingered heroes including Hercules, Namora, and Amadaeus Cho, Artume regained the Omphalos and remade the world to her wishes.
Girl power, ladies. We'll see you next month.
The Players
Heroes: Hercules, Namora, Amadaeus Cho, Delphyne, and Athena. Athena is included because of the side she chose but let me say...those Greek Gods you can't trust one moment to the next that they'll pick the good side. Hercules, though, has had a noble streak in the Marvel Universe, but he's a little dense. Which makes his adventures fun as he flounders through not really knowing what's going on. Amadaeus Cho has quickly become a character I look forward to seeing. A genius fueled by candy. He's fun to watch alongside Hercules. Namora...well, she's Namor, the Sub-Mariner, but female. Apparently that makes Namor easier to deal with. I like her more than Namor. Delphyne is cute, but I don't suspect we'll see her much longer.
Villains: Artume and the Amazons. The Marvel Universe Amazons with high powered weaponry in hand have been fun. Ok, they're hot. Artume is annoying, but she leads hot, gun-toting women.
News Rating: 4 1/2 Worms. Fun adventure. Humor. Namora's low blow to Atlas is a shot to see.
