Fomalhaut...The Marvel Experience

Thanks to the Hubble Telescope, once thought a waste of money, but trust is science, my friends...thanks to the Hubble Telescope, we have a picture, the first picture, in fact, of a planet outside of our solar system...the planet orbits the star Fomalhaut...

What does this have to do with a comic blog?

I suggest that the name of the planet be Pumor...

In 1975, Marvel comics introduced an alien race from the planet Pumor, a planet which orbited the star...Fomalhaut...

The Fomolhauti are an amoeba-like race with possessing one eye, tendrils, and telepathy. They are a race of world conquerers having taken control of the all female Banari and the Aquatic Haab with Skullhuggers, mechanical or biomechanical devices to keep individuals subservient. There are 4 notable Fomolhauti...

Dumog - Used by Prime Mover in a game against Grandmaster. Killed Daredevil (but he got better). Later was chosen by Korvac for his Minions of Menace, but was frozen by Martinex of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Dumog later, with the other Minions now calling themselves the Intimidators, attempted to recreate Korvac with a computer program, but Dumog was again constrained by Martinex's cold.

Figillulli - Attempted to participate in the Runner's Galactic Marathon. He was disqualified when Makkari pleaded for inclusion and he beat Figillulli's time.

Sporr - Mutant Fomolhauti and the only known example of a benevolent member of the race. He attempted to aid the Levians on their crippled ship. But the Levians misinterpreted his actions and got Thor and the Warriors Three to attack and subdue him. But the Levian leader had Sporr executed before they learned of his true benevolence.

Xlyym - Creator of the skullhuggers, Xlyym was used by Skeletron to distract from an attempt to capture the bearer of the Starbrand. He used Planetary Thrusters to draw attention. He was ultimately killed by Tamara Rahn for his enslavement of the Banari.

So, ladies and gentlemen...maybe we should be careful looking at this planet orbiting Fomolhaut...Perhaps it will only draw attention from...the fearsome Fomolhauti!
