Comic Review: Bomb Queen #4

Bomb Queen #4

Story & Art: Jim Robinson

Colors: Paul Little

Published by: Image Comics

Bomb Queen takes a back seat role in her own comic in this latest issue from Jim Robinson. We focus on the Cape Watch boys, Neil and Scott, as they try and save Kino-Chan from Bomb Queen by learning the White Knight's secrets. We learn that Littleville isn't what it appears to be, although we still don't know exactly what the secret is.

Meanwhile, Dee-Rail helps capture the killer who's been framing Bomb Queen, but idiot Neil...well, ok...we don't know exactly what happens, but somehow Neil gets himself captured.

Will Bomb Queen learn White Knight's secret and get her revenge on the killer? What's Littleville's secret? Will Kino-Chan make it out of New Port City in one piece and without becoming just another piece to be used?

Robinson's Bomb Queen continues to be one of the most envelope-pushing titles out there leaving no depravity from at least rearing its perverse head in a background scene or mentioned in a dialogue balloon. New Port City, through Robinson's writing and art, has taken on a life all its own and is a character in its own right. Robinson's art is also becoming more refined and perfectly showcases his story.

With two more issues of this latest Bomb Queen series left, we're stuck wondering how Robinson will end it and hoping that he's already at work planning a new series.

Just remember, Bomb Queen is for "Mature Readers" which has more to do with age and taste than maturity. As Bomb Queen herself says, "This ain't your daddy's comics, ya' cosplayin' b!$@#."
