Published by: Dark Hollow Comics

Too Hot for Dogs is a six issue mini series begining with the prologue "An Immaculate Misconception" and introduces the character being positioned to spearhead the independent comic imprint, Sinner:619.

In "An Immaculate Misconception" we find Sinner:619 in hiding as he discovers his old nemesis Madelaine, aka God, has returned to earth with a small army of angels. As per usual, they have come in varied disguises. As Sinner narrates the possibilities that stretch before him we are treated to some insights into the world of both parties. 28 pages of full colour soon reveals there is a lot more to the story than a monster trapped in a world he never made and a God with a cross to bear...

Admittedly, I'm not well versed in the Bible, but I know enough about Christianity to get what Smith is doing. How we understand Christianity and the world isn't quite right, and God and the angels and Lucifer and his devils aren't really what we think they are. Sion Smith's take on the Bible and Milton's Paradise Lost is interesting and unique. A list left for God to tend to on a refrigerator door with such things as "setting Mrs. Connor up with a husband" and "We've got two planets sliding out of alignment" shows us that Sion is willing to have a little fun with the Heavenly Host.

But as interesting as Smith's take on Christianity is, and as Beautiful double splash page from Too Hot for Dogs #1captivating as Sinner:619 is, they get blown away by Charlotte Rose's art. Rose's art is just beautiful. Enchanting you might say, and certainly unique in the comic world. Charlotte uses digital art working to produce the wonderful images that accompany Sion's story.
