Things can’t ever stay peaceful for Rick Grimes and his motley crew of post-apocalyptic zombie plague survivors. After being bitten by a zombie and having his foot removed, which seems to have saved his life, Dale doesn’t seem able to shake the feeling that Andrea is going to leave him. With Andrea working to improve everyone’s aim, Alice asks her to bring back a zombie still undead hoping to study it and learn more about it, much to Rick’s concern. Carol, though, is the real story. Carol, feeling alone and lost, allows Alice’s zombie to bite her.
Kirkman’s Walking Dead is one of the great horror series of all time, which is impressive considering very few horror series are ongoing stories rather than a slue of mini-series, or an anthology series. His series isn’t an action comic, but a drama as one group of survivors does the best they can. Despite the supernatural presence of zombies, the characters behave and react it realistic ways. Walking Dead has been one of the great indy titles and has been talked about in every corner of the comic industry. If you still haven’t checked it out, find one of the trades. You don’t know what you are missing.
