Comic Review: Omega Flight #4

Omega Flight #4

Written by: Michael Avon Oeming
Art by: Scott Kolins
Colors by: Brian Reber
Published by: Marvel Comics

The Wrecking Crew continues their rampage in Canada. We learn that the reason they are tougher than ever is that they are being infused with power from the Great Beasts. While the villains are seeking power through the Great Beasts, Omega Flight is still trying to get itself together. USAgent and Talisman are banter flirting, and Arachne is holding her own, albeit with uncertainty. Beta Ray Bill seems to be the best offense against the quartet, except things go from bad to worse when Sasquatch finds himself under the influence of the Great Beasts. Luckily, Rachel Carpenter, Arachne’s daughter, releases Michael Pointer, the new Guardian to help her mother.

Oeming’s story is pretty interesting, although nothing too gripping. Kolins’s art is fine, although kind of dark and cluttered making it kind of hard to tell what’s going on. It works well with the demons, and his close up shots look good, but the wideshots get murky. The strength of the series, though, is in the interesting characters they are using.
Rating: 3 Worms - It's not bad, but it's nothing special, either.
