Comic Review: Ghost Rider #10
Written by: Daniel Way
Art by: Javier Saltares (b), Mark Texeira (f), and Dan Brown (c)
Published by: Marvel Comics
Story: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Illinois Part 3
*Spoilers*
Way’s Ghost Rider is a great take on a great character. Chasing Johnny Blaze as he rides out of Hell, Lucifer, also exiting Hell, breaks into 666 pieces, each piece entering a human allowing Lucifer to wreak havoc on Earth. Ghost Rider is determined to send Lucifer back to Hell one piece at a time.
This arc, starting with Ghost Rider #8, has Lucifer possessing the dead body of Jack O’Lantern. He’s killing children in Sleepy Hollow, Illinois. Ghost Rider gets help from local sheriff Harry O’Connor. Harry and Johnny figure out who Jack O’Lantern’s next victim and head to intercept him.
Way’s story is an interesting and gripping tale with a darkly written Ghost Rider. Texeira and Saltares’s art compliments Way’s plot with dark, emotional scenes and the scariest Jack O’Lantern ever seen.
