Review: Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse

*Gentleman Spoilers Below*

Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse #1

Written and Art by: Ben Templesmith
Published by: IDW Publishing

Thanks to Robert Kirkman and his series The Walking Dead zombies are everywhere. Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse is the latest zombie offering...though certainly with its own personal twist.

Wormwood appears to be a zombie who fights monsters out to harm humans...but everything's not that simple. Wormwood isn't really the zombie, but a worm of some sort which animates dead bodies. That concept alone makes the Mr. Mind fan in me go all a'twitter.

Wormwood naturally has some assistance...Mr. Pendulum and newly recruited Phoebe. We don't know much about these two yet, but there have been some hints.

What's distinctive about Wormwood is Templesmith's use of dark humor amidst gore and carnage. This issue's monster which is apparently the son of some creature with whom Wormwood had a relationship. Mr. Pendulum casually commenting that he doesn't use the bathromm because he "got no bits".

Ultimate Win...5 Worms. Check this title out!
