Comic Pull 06/28/06

Here's what I'm getting this week...

52 #8-It was good seeing Ralph give Booster the riot act last week. Let's see what they have for us this week

All New Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe #6-Have way through this 12 issue miniseries. This time we have entries on Justice of the New Universe, Marvel UK's Killpower, Kylun, and Major Mapleleaf!

American Way #5-I've been impressed with this series, although there are few characters to really root for. Conspiracy and good ol' racism! But still, riveting.

Annihilation: Ronan #3-I've been really impressed with the Annihilation serieses(?)

Civil War: Frontline #2-Civil War is driving me crazy. Why? Because I can see both sides! I agree with Tony...I agree with Cap! What's a fan to do? Well, side with Cap cause I've never been a big fan of Iron Man. I don't agree with Spider-Man's revelation in Civil War #2, though. Especially since it's so contrary to what he's said everywhere else about the Registration. We'll see what they do with it before I pass final judgement.

Daredevil #86-I'm impressed with Brubaker. I thought once Bendis left, I'd leave too...but Brubaker's met the challenge well.

Invincible #33-KIRKMAN'S A GOD!

Liberality for All #3-A comic with a conservative message. I have to admit that it's not as good as I'd hoped. A little too heavy handed. Subtlety would have worked better, I think. Still, something I feel like I should support and it's pretty good. Just could be better.

Moon Knight #3-I've always liked Moon Knight, though his past series usually fell flat. I liked him back when he first appeared in Werewolf by Night and think they should get into a supernatural type theme in his book, not mercenaries like it has been...But Charlie Huston is doing a great job keeping me interested, and Finch's ary is very appealling.

New Avengers #21-Very good series, but I find Sentry to be a problem. Either he's not there, or he's doing all the fighting while the others are pretty much just chaos control. Still, good series.

Nightmare on Elm Street: Paranoid #3-Dude, Freddy Krueger!

Savage Dragon #127-One of the best indy series of all time!

Sidekick #1-A sidekick starts moonlighting on his mentor become other heroes sidekicks. Should be funny stuff! From Image Comics if you want to look for it.

Teenage Murder Bait one-shot-From Basement Comics, this is one of those purchases where I know it's going to suck, but I can't help myself. Like driving past a bad wreck and you know someone's lost a head and you don't want to see it but the curiosity is so bad that you have to look...I mean, how many times do you have the opportunity to see a severed head on the highway? Same thing...

Ultimate Spider-Man #96-The only Spider-Man titles that can keep me interested.

Villains #2-I actually got this last week, but its on this weeks Diamond List. I haven't read it yet, but #1 was really intriguing. Can't wait to get to it...

X-Factor #8-Strong Guy and Madrox...The reasons I keep buying this book. I mean, it's fun and all, but there'd be no book without Madrox and Strong Guy!

X-Men #187-The aftermath of what I felt was a fairly anticlimactic return for Apocalypse. Soon, they are bringing in Sabretooth as a member of the team and, well, I can't get behind that. Either he's forced to work with them like in the past, or he's stopped being a murdering machine...either option, I can't get behind that. Leave the bad guys alone and use who is already a good guy, or create someone new. This title is heading for the chopping block.

Young Avengers #12-Allan Heinberg has a wonderful comic here, where there should not be one...but wonderful nonetheless.

Plus Previews and Wizard...
